Merritt, Merritt

One of the words that Merritt says most frequently is "meh" . . . meaning mess.  Cracks me up!  Mom, I made a mess.  Mom, I am a mess.  Mom, that is a mess.  Mom, you made a mess.  All totally true.

His single syllable words are coming along and I can get a two word phrase out of him around once a day.  He primarily uses only vowel sounds.  So, I still use a ton of context clues as to what is going on around and I try to teach Erik the translations when he is around.

Right now, Merritt has a cold.  Poor baby.

He loves playing with cars.  While in the bathroom earlier, he attacked some cars with a dinosaur and the scene went like this:

Merritt:  ROAR (attacking cars with dinosaurs)
Merritt:  Owie (the cars reply back to the dinosaurs)

He runs for the bathroom when it is time to brush his teeth.  And, he isn't shy about brushing his teeth with his toothbrush and Evy's toothbrush.  Variety is the spice of life, right?

He loves running, chasing, climbing, and crashing trains. Everyone gets a nice HI and BYE from him, and if he likes you really, well he'll give you a kiss.

He doesn't do time out and he thinks it is hilarious when mom starts counting.

Shoes are optional once they are on, but if everyone else is getting them on, he goes for the shoes that are nearest to him.

The first person he looks for in the morning is his dad.  "Daee?"

He has never met a fry he hasn't scarfed down quickly.

Popcorn is the first food of choice.  Fruit treats follow a close second.

He becomes very concerned when Everett gets hurt,"Ewee, owie?"

The following pictures were taken by a friend of mine while she watched him as the rest of us were helping Evy in the hospital.  And, yes, that is the most patient dog on the planet.
