The first night we were with his brother's family. Their kids are so awesome and play so well and accept our kids so easily! It was high time that we caught up with one another. Saturday, we had the chance to see two Clara and Cecianna play in a soccer game! Since then, soccer has been the #1 sport played in our backyard . . . Evy takes turns assigning who is supposed to be the "blocker." (Clara played goalie for much of the game that we saw.)
The second part of our trip we spent with Pa and Nana. We had a great time talking and eating with them . . .and playing TREASURE HUNT with maps and clues "and everything"! Ahw, yeah!
Lots of walks and touring the outdoors and even the expansive garden with STRAW-BIRDIES (strawberries)!
(Merritt got a little bit of a boo-boo but rallied to finish the hunt . . . and EAT icecream!)
While in Austin, we spent our time visiting family . . . but did make a stop to try out the legendary Round Rock doughnuts . . . don't know how we lived in Austin all that time and never tried them. And, the doughnuts were HUGE!
To finish out the trip, halfway home, we stopped by my sister's place for DELICIOUS dinner and playing! A great way to break up the drive home.
