I think that most kids Merritt's age are getting proficient with animal sounds. Not Merritt. He prefers the dinosaur roar since that is what he prefers to play with at home.
When we are trying to keep him occupied in Sacrament, we use a touch and feel book that illustrates Bible stories. It kind of goes like this:
Parent: Look, Merritt, baby Moses.
Merritt: (in a soft voice) Rooaarrr!
Parent: Look, Merritt, a lamb.
Merritt: (in a soft voice) Rooaarrr!
Parent: Look, Merritt, baby Jesus.
Merritt: (in a soft voice) Rooaarrr!
Parent: Look, Merritt, Jonah and the whale.
Merritt: (in a soft voice) Rooaarrr!
Parent: Look, Merritt, Jesus with all the children.
Merritt: (in a soft voice) Rooaarrr!
Parent: Look, Merritt, an alligator.
Merritt: (in a soft voice) Rooaarrr!
Parent: Okay, that one works there.
He loves dogs right now is adding that sound to what he says. He is also pretty good at making car sounds when he plays cars with Evy. Tonight, he said "Amen" when he clapped at the end of the prayer.
